RollReel Privacy Policy

RollReel never uploads, transmits, or stores your videos anywhere but your device.

RollReel ("the App," "we," "our") is a local video player for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, what we do (and don't do) with it, and your choices. Because RollReel has no servers and no user accounts, there is very little to explain — but we want to be precise about it anyway.

1. What RollReel accesses

• Photo Library (videos only). RollReel requests access to your device's Photo Library so it can read and display your existing videos in a swipe feed. This access is requested via Apple's standard PHPhotoLibrary permission system, and you can grant Full Access, Limited Access (to specific videos only), or deny it entirely at any time in iOS Settings.
• Face ID (optional). If you enable the Privacy Vault feature, RollReel uses Face ID to lock access to videos you've moved into the Vault. Face ID authentication is handled entirely by iOS — RollReel never receives, stores, or transmits any biometric data. We only receive a yes/no "authenticated" result from the operating system.

2. What RollReel does not do

• We do not upload, transmit, sync, or back up your videos to any server — there is no RollReel server, and no cloud storage of any kind.
• We do not require or support a user account, sign-in, or profile.
• We do not access your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any other device data beyond what's listed in Section 1.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your videos or video metadata with anyone, for any reason.

3. Sharing

When you use RollReel's "Share" feature, the App hands the selected video to Apple's native iOS Share Sheet. From there, you choose where it goes — Messages, AirDrop, a social app, etc. RollReel does not see, log, or have any involvement in that destination; the transfer happens entirely through Apple's system Share Sheet and the destination app you pick.

4. Advertising

RollReel's free tier displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and other technical information (such as device type, operating system, and approximate region derived from IP address) to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. This data is handled directly by Google/AdMob — RollReel does not receive, store, or have access to it. Upgrading to RollReel Pro or Plus removes ads entirely and stops this data collection.

On iOS, any cross-app tracking by advertising partners is subject to Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and your system-level choice in Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

5. In-App Purchases

RollReel Pro (lifetime) and RollReel Plus (annual) purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit/In-App Purchase. RollReel never receives or stores your payment information — Apple handles billing, receipts, and subscription management directly.

6. Data retention

Settings such as your chosen filters, favorites, and Vault configuration are stored locally on your device only (using iOS's standard app storage) and are deleted if you delete the App. Nothing is retained by us, because nothing is ever sent to us.

7. Children's Privacy

RollReel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App has no accounts, no servers, and no data collection beyond what's described above, this risk does not meaningfully apply — but we state it here for clarity per App Store requirements.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, note it in the App's "What's New" release notes.
